Business Development Manager
This is a remote role with approximately 25% national travel required. While the company’s headquarters are in the Greater Santa Barbara area, candidates based in California or neighboring states are strongly preferred.
Compensation: $120,000 base salary - Commensurate (negotiable dependent on experience and qualifications) + commission

The Opportunity
This newly created role is designed for a strategic, relationship-driven business developer ready to take ownership of sales growth across emerging verticals. As Business Development Manager, you’ll lead sales strategy and execution, serving as the face of sales for the company while expanding into new sectors like parking, higher education, and public infrastructure.
While you won’t be leading a team initially, you’ll be responsible for shaping the direction of business development for new verticals and laying the groundwork to build a future sales organization as the company continues to scale.
You’ll report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with the VP of Sales for the transit division.
What You’ll Do
- Lead sales strategy and business development initiatives across IoT, smart infrastructure, and public-sector markets.
- Build and nurture partnerships with OEMs, integrators, public agencies, and distributors.
- Identify and close new opportunities through consultative selling and long-term relationship building.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align customer needs with product capabilities.
- Participate in RFP processes, presentations, and complex deal negotiations.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
- Clearly communicate product value, ROI, and integration opportunities in smart city and SaaS environments.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of business development, strategic partnerships, or B2B sales experience.
- Experience in SaaS or technology solutions highly desired.
- Strong understanding ofIoT, smart infrastructure, or public-sector technology markets.
- Proven success managing long, complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
